This artwork’s title is an excerpted line from 1 Nephi 8:30 – a Book of Mormon verse.
As I composed this piece, I thought of a variety of possible titles and interpretations. I settled on a Hebrew phrase from Genesis 18:2 – a phrase that means “and lo, three men” or perhaps “and behold, three men.” The verses are taken from the beginning of a chapter about Abraham:
1 And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;
2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
